No chance to win but you need some underdogs.

If Reddick is out, then there would be an open spot.

What people are forgetting is that the three-point contest is timed and you only have one minute. That sounds like crunch time to me.

Harden wins this easy.

I actually like the Harden addition. Redick strikes me as the type to drop a 16-17 in the 1st and get bounced. Harden could actually get hot and compete.

Not to mention the name recognition for the event.

The NBA’s leading scorer will not have to wait for the All-Star game on Feb. 15 in Madison Square Garden to start putting up shots in New York on All-Star weekend.

Rockets guard James Harden will be officially named to the field for the Foot Locker Three-Point contest tonight, according to two individuals that had been told that Harden would be invited.

Harden said recently that he would like to participate in the event Feb. 14 in Barclays Center, but added, “I have to start shooting better.” Harden, the Western Conference Player of the Month for December and January, has done that, making 47 percent of his 3s in his past 10 games.

Harden is fifth in the NBA in 3-pointers made per game, making 38.7 percent of his 3-pointers this season. Harden averages 27 points per game to lead the league in scoring.

“I’ve been working out back in the gym at night time, putting up extra shots,” Harden said on Thursday. “It’s a grind. It doesn’t stop. I enjoy the journey. I enjoy the grind. That motivates me and keeps me pushing every single game. The night before we played the Bulls I was in here. I’ll probably come back here tonight. It’s all about confidence. If you have confidence on the court, anything can happen.”

The Rockets have not had a participant in the 3-point contest since Cuttino Mobley in 2004. Of current Rockets players, only Jason Terry has been in the event, twice competing while with the Dallas Mavericks.

This season’s field could be especially loaded, with Kyle Korver of the Hawks, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson of the Warriors and J.J. Redick also among the likely participants.

I like it when big name stars compete. Looking forward to it.

This might be the most intriguing field since the Bird era.

Second in the NBA in assists for non-PGs.

Funny jokes are based on truth. That's why I like Jim Gaffigan so much.

So jokes can only be funny if they are based off truth?
