Jake Arrieta has absolutely been the best pitcher in the world for the past three months. He makes every single hitter look stupid. His starts are appointment television, and there is no way you can pitch any better. His command and stuff is nearly flawless.

I have seen/listened to every one of Arrieta's starts this season. He has been simply amazing. Routinely makes the best hitters in the world look foolish. Best part is that he is showing zero signs of arm fatigue/tiredness. This season has been fun enough as it is, but to have a pitcher be this dominant, on your team, has been icing on the cake.

This season has been incredible, and I hope everyone appreciates it regardless of what happens in October. I am going to make a lengthier post about the Cubs season along those lines.

Anyone have a guess as to how the Cubs/Arrieta will handle his last reg season start? I'm thinking maybe 4-5 innings since the game will be likely be meaningless and the wild card game coming up.

Wrigley Field is one of the most beautiful places in the world. That's a goddamn fact.

Is Hector Rondon still the closer? I noticed that he hasn't gotten a save since September 11th.

Is that just happenstance?

Jake Arrietta has been so good the last few months that Grienke giving up just 2 ERs last night looks like a bad "CY Young" start.

Yes.

A complete game or two in there, a couple wins for him and being unavailable at least once.
