Is there a way to research Mississippi High School Basketball All State Teams?

My Grandfather was born in 1913. The story goes he was all state some time in the 1930's (Played 5 years LOL).
I've searched/googled his name and "Misissippi high school all state basketball teams" but nothing comes up dated that far back.
Anybody have any suggestions of how else to search? Surely, there is a record of the teams some where...
I believe it, but other than family stories and 1 picture of him being the tallest on his high school team, I don't have much proof. Any help is appreciated.

You may have to go to the archives of one of the newspapers.

Try contacting the school or the writers association that voted on the teams

I thought about that. Supposedly, someone in the family did have some clippings from the papers at one time but no one knows where they are or who had them last.
