OMFG! Do you not realize most schools lower admission standards for athletes?
What? It's harder for athletes. They have to play ball AND play school.

He got into Alabama. That means he's above average smarts.

Bama isn't that hard to get into.

If you went there and were not just a sidewalk fan you would know this.

I feel like half the Bama fans on this board went to trade school or community college. They're all so damn stupid

A lot of bama players couldn't get into Bama without being a star athlete. Their scores and GPA are awful. That being said, same thing for LSU, Florida, Texas, etc. Most schools follow a national minimum for athletes to enter college. Only colleges like Vandy, Northwestern, Ivy League, Duke have higher standards than the national minimum for athletes

Most schools just require a super score of 18 on the ACT. So they take the highest Math score, English, etc that you have gotten on any test, then combine them into one test to get your cumulative score. And they only do that for scholarship athletes. It's an extremely low standard

Of course you wouldn't know any of that if you went to community college instead of a real university, so I can't blame you

Lacy was thought to not qualify. LSU assumed he would not. Pretty big mistake.

Ok I'll give you Vandy and Duke and the Ivy League schools like MIT. But Northwestern? That place has nothing on UA.

While we're talking about Bama busts...

quote:

Landon Collins - DB - Giants NJ Advance Media's Jordan Raanan believes Giants rookie SS Landon Collins is on a "short leash." Collins biggest gaffe was a dropped interception which would have iced a win over the Patriots before the bye, but the rookie has struggled in pass coverage all season. The good news for Collins is no one in the safety group is playing particularly well, and it is much more likely Brandon Meriweather hits the bench before a second-round rookie. The safety position will again be a need the Giants target this offseason. Source: Newark Star-Ledger Nov 23 - 10:35 AM Player Outlook Game Log Career Stats Draft Advice

That's a horribly written piece

Landon has been horrible, though. That might be an understatement.

It's not really a "piece". It's a roto blurb

did they not watch Landon in college? Were they expecting him to be decent in pass coverage?

I never understood why Collins was being evaluated as a 1-2nd rd talent, tough for me to even call him a bust.

Maybe he's so athletic that they figured they could develope his cover skills? I have no idea, but he's been abysmal.

Most of the people I know that went to trade school are doing very well for themselves.
