Have you seen any other elite QB who throws as many back breaking interceptions as Brees does? Also he throws more picks than all the other top flight QBs in the league, period. Is Brees turning into Favre as his career winds down...trying to force things...make things happen? What does the MSB say?

Dudes been the best 5 years running, the play calling this year is just atrocious and drew looks scared throwing the ball down field plenty of times

certain Super Bowl play comes to mind.

He is tied with Peyton Manning for the 15th lowest interception rate in NFL history at 2.6%

Brady at 2.0% and Aaron Rodgers has the best ever at 1.7%

I know that going into last season, the average ranked defense he had for his career was around 20th. Believe it was 19th.

Brady had a top 10 D on average and Manning was between 13-15. Brees has shown that he'll protect the ball well with decent protection and a good D - 2009, 2011, and 2013.

He's been forcing it WAAAAY to much the last few games.

Simple: their offensive line is one of the worst in the NFL and Brees is getting frustrated and trying to force passes.

The better question is: why were they even passing on that (second to) last possession?

Big Ben.

He singlehandledly kept the Steelers out of the 2012 playoffs. Cost us two games in December with bonehead plays that reminded me of another Saints quarterback.

The issue is that NOLA has been drafting for luxury when they needed too be drafting for line play.

I.e. Brandin Cooks and Mark Ingram

Yep saints need to do what the Cowboys did. A beast offensive line turned them from 8-8 to NFC favorites in one season

Yes he is. He needs to quit thinking he is the entire team and trust his team to make plays.

Our offensive line should have been more addressed in the 13 and 14 drafts than that. Why would you have a $100 million quarterback and not want to protect him better

Or hell if we can still deal for someone like the Jets did for Percy Harvin last week let's jump on it quick.

I think a better comparison is that Brees looks like Romo looked the past few years - a very good QB trying to force things and do too much.

The frustrating thing to me though is that if Drew Brees had just played within himself, we'd have likely beaten Atlanta, Cleveland, and Detroit.

He's become so ingrained and used to passing for 5000 yards and 40 TD's that it seems like he's not satisfied with an ugly 19-17 win. He'd rather force up a risky pass than take a sack in a key spot. As a result the Saints are 2-4 instead of 5-1.

His interception in the end zone at Atlanta was the defining play of that loss.

His pick 6 at Cleveland was the defining play of that loss.

His interception yesterday late in the 4th quarter was the defining play of that loss.

When you have to max the contract on your QB it affects other parts of your roster. The OL is starting to show its age and is not the best at protecting Brees right now

Everyone laughed at Dallas but look what they did to upgrade their line through draft - its paying off

They ran the ball 21 times for 73 yards. You thought they were going to run out the clock?

Everyone laughed at Dallas for drafting O-lineman 3 years in a row and solidifying that unit? Everyone laughed at Dallas because if Jerry Jones wouldnt have been put in straight jacket he would have drafted Johnny Football.
