But Miles actually produced some results. I know Miles needs to change the offensive game plan but he has at least won one NC and a few SEC titles. What has Pagano done?

Read my mind. At least Irsay has his substance abuse as an excuse for his erratic management.

I happen to be a colts fan and I'm so happy we kept him. He turned a 2-14 franchise with nothing left in the cabinet in to 11-win team with a rookie QB. He also went 8-8 this year with luck either out or playing hurt for 24 weeks. I would only have been okay with dismissing him if a better coach were available.

Pagano has overacheived with a team low on talent due to a series of poor GM's. He was fricked this year with injuries.

Coaches get so much blame for everything in the NFL.

Now the fact that they retained their GM is a bad move

They need a new GM. Their current one isn't giving this team the talent they need

He took a team that was 2-14 the year before he got there to the playoffs 3 years in a row. The only time he's missed the playoffs he was legit playing QBs off the street.

Injuries to your QB at that level aren't a good reason to fire a coach.

If there is a shite show as bad, if not worse, than the Alleva situation it's this one.

I heard clips of the presser. Irsay didn't seem very convincing and was stumbling around saying "um" approximately 85 times. Pagano said it was the best day of his life. I'm sure his wife and kids will be happy to hear that. What about beating cancer? Sounded like a disaster.

so technically there was an opening and they should have interviewed a minority before hiring him back

I can imagine. Them not realizing the three offensive producers from last year either weren't on the team or spent most of the season hurt.

According to an NFL source, the Colts were negotiating with Sean Payton reps while Pagano talks were also happening. Talks broke down.
