I remind you that Bird wasn't relied on to carry the team. He didn't HAVE to have the ball in his hands on every posession.
Then again, he wasn't afraid to take that last shot either.

I'm not a LeBron fan by any stretch but if you don't think he could put up those numbers in the 80's or any other era, you're crazy.

lebron has played 12 full seasons
through larrys first 12 seasons, lebron has a higher PER, has a higher eFG%, a higher TS%, is worth more wins/48 minutes, has a lower TOV%, a higher AST%, and has a higher ORtg. larry has a better DRtg but thats about it

absurd to compare stats from the 86-87 season with the 14-15 season.

2014-2015 was lebrons 12th season, 1990-1991 was larrys. comparing the two seasons, lebron had a higher PER, a higher eFG%, a higher TS%, he actually did have a higher TOV% but he also had a higher AST%, was worth more wins/48 minutes, and he had a higher ORtg but also had a higher DRtg. looks like lebron comes out ahead again if you ask me

Here are some fun stats comparing 2014-15 with 1986-87:
1986-87:
Michael Jordan led the NBA with 2270 attempts
18 players attempted more than 500 FTs
10 players had more than 600 assists
2014-15:
Russell Westbrook led the NBA with 1471 attempts
4 players attempted more than 500 FTs
4 players had more than 600 assists
11 players in 1986-87 attempted more shots than Russell Westbrook did in 2014-15 (including Larry Bird).

Wow. Never looked into this before. That's ridiculous, although not surprising given the stats some of these players produced during that era. Crazy nonetheless.
