I haven't ever seen that before. But that putt had no reason to not drop. It looked dead in the heart of the cup.

That's a terrible quality video. The ball actually went in the hole dead center, hit the bottom of the cup and hopped out of the hole.

I think I'd have to just quit trying to become a pro after that. Just isn't meant to be

That is what I was going to ask, I couldn't tell from the video if the ball went in on the right lip and skipped out if it just defied physics and went straight in and back out. It didn't even look like there was much speed on it? I don't understand.

Good article about where Joe is today

quote:

The ball struck the top edge of the cup liner and bounced back toward Daley. The cup liner by rule has to be set an inch beneath the putting surface, but it was dislodged, likely by a wary flagstick.
Daley was livid. He stepped back, hurled his black hat to the ground and pointed to the hole in disbelief. He stood with his hand on his hip, never taking his eye off the cup and conceded a triple bogey.
"It was the damnedest thing I had ever seen," he told reporters that day.
Before that hole, Daley was at 16 under and high on the leader board with two rounds to play. He played the next two days at 1 under. He missed his ticket to the PGA Tour by one stroke. A PGA Tour veteran in 1996 and '98, he never returned.

Twelve years later, Daley is sitting at No. 2 on the leader board of the Constellation Senior Players Championship after posting rounds of 66 and 64 at Fox Chapel Fox Golf Club. He was asked to recall the 2000 putt. He laughed and assented, his voice rising in anguish.

don't forget about jaxon brigman who thought he made it on the number after a 65 the last day only to find out a little later he signed for a 66. had to take the 66 and missed it by one.

patrick reed making a move today. hope he can hold on.

Reed looks in. Gotta figure 4 guys behind or with him arent going to jump him. Its the 6th day of the hardest qualifying of any sport. Loupe will get in a ton of Web.com events. What happened to Brett Bergeron? He was dead last but didnt finish yesterday.
