It's my team. I own it. Here is what I pay you. If you don't like it, go play somewhere else.

What is wrong with this mindframe?

People don't pay to see you(The Owner). I pay to see Drew Brees, Will Smith and The Good Saint Players. That is why the preseason never has fans at the games and other pro leagues have not taken off. Your argument doesn't hold much water. Basically the owners won't be making money without the Star players.

Because the NFL currently employs the roughly 2000 best football players in the world, and yet there are still teams like the Bills and the NFC west. The product would be nearly unwatchable if the owners told the current players to get lost.

I can't, through collusion you (the owners) have held a draft for my rights as a player

OK, but I'd bet half of the 2000 players would break lines to get a check. 2 years later, the league is strong again.

Wrong. In the event of a lockout, the player regains all of his rights to do as he pleases.

If you dont want to play in the nfl, if you dont think its fair here, you're rights are released. You're free to play anywhere you want.

I say you're wrong. People watch that college garbage on wed nights.

What's quality football will change, depending on the level of the player.

People will watch football.

If they don't, you lose a shite-ton of money because no one's going to watch the games.

Even if you DO break the players' union, the number of people paying to go to games still drops because people are disgusted with the whole mess.

MLB and NHL both went through this.

MLB was in horrible shape for YEARS after the '94 strike, mainly pulled out of a funk by the home run wars between steroid freaks like McGwire, Bonds, and Sosa.

The NHL, arguably, still hasn't recovered from losing the 2004-2005 season due to a lockout.

The nhl is a regional game. strike or not, 75% of the country could give a shite.

mlb isnt a violent game. football is. look at the popularity of college baseball vs college football.

players have bills to pay. lots of bills. most have nothing to fall back to. not all players are drew brees or manning.

most need money.

take that away, and they are fricked.

If you found a way to erase people memories of what the NFL was like when there was good players maybe. But if people remember Adrian Peterson with the Vikings they aren't going to be so excited seeing He Hate Me as the new starting RB.

You act like the players are the only ones with money problems.

As Biggie said, mo money, mo problems.

Know who else has huge bills right now and little income? Jerry Jones.

Since the NFL owners are no longer getting their "strike insurance" from the TV contract, he's still got to meet his notes on Jerry World without an obvious outlet to provide it to him.

The worst that can happen to Antonio Cromartie for being behind on the child support for his 7 kids is a little time in county.

The worst that can happen to Jerry Jones for defaulting on the notes for Jerry World is losing whatever he put up as collateral for the loan... such as the Dallas Cowboys.

dumbass

what would you think of the xfl, if adrian peterson was the starting rb for the las vegas whatever they ares. that dude still needs a check. he's gonna go play for someone who gives him one. as will the others

Or.....

he says frick the union, i'm back in the nfl.

My money is on the latter, along with 75% of the other players

oh my god.

the owners didnt become owners by being tards.

there are other forms of income.

cromartie can do one thing. play football. if he doesn earn income playing, he is sunk.

my argument is that the opwners dont need these players. if the owners hold strong, my guess is that most of the players will come back, and play outside the union, and/or they will will find new players that are willng to.

either way, we keep watching, the owners keep earning.

Well the product and the owner are mutually benefited by the league functioning properly.

The owners and I agree to an extent feel that a few years down the line they are going to be in a real pickle in terms of cash available to service their debt loads. The players want nothing to change obviously. I just find the players position at this point to be detrimental to the process. The last proposal was a good one and one they could have worked off to get this things done..he ball as they say was in their court and they decided to run to court.. Bitch move at this point and one that will damage everybody

so, what do you think the odds are of the majority of the union playing outside the union, or "replacement players" in a sense making the league functioning properly again....as u put it.

Yes, because you can so easily replace franchise QBs like Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, etc., with any scrub straight out of D-I...

Take a look at the dropoff in Arizona between Kurt Warner playing for them two years ago and having a rotation of guys like Derek Anderson at QB this past season if you don't think the loss of a franchise QB will completely wreck some of these teams.
