If he would have more playoff wins then yes. But since he cant get them a ring so no. He needs another 5 years of great seasons like he's had.

3x era champ
3x Cy Young
MVP
Pitching triple crown

I believe he's in on JAWS or he's just on the outside

Idk first ballot but that's a fringe HOFer even given the ridiculousness that it is for starters to get in

5 years eh? The dude has 8 straight seasons with an ERA below 2.91 and three seasons during that span with an ERA under 2

30 years old, coming off injury
Not like he would be the first player entering his age 30 year to fall off in MLB.

Considering the criteria for pitching is changing, no longer will voters look for 300 win threshold. I think Clayton being as dominating as he has been will elicit a lot of votes

I bet the Angels thought that when they literally handed Josh Hamilton $125 mil to bat .255 and hit 21 home runs over its entirety.

Baseball is a weird arse sport, guys just lose it, or with throw across the diamond it's over.

1st ballot, no

CY Young, Carl Hubbell, Dizzy Dean, Whitey Ford, Don Sutton, and Catfish Hunter weren't elected on the 1st ballot.
