The Big 12 is doing it again, they will be left out due to lack of a conference title game.

Assume Alabama wins in Atlanta (which they most likely will, and would probably be in even if they lose).

Ohio State is a lock.

As of now, Washington and Clemson are penciled in to complete the top 4.

1) Alabama
2) Clemson
3) Ohio State
4) Washington

If either Clemson or Washington loses, then the winner of Penn State vs Wisconsin is the most likely next team up.

They'd only have competition from Colorado, but their schedule will keep them out.

If Wash and Clem win the final standings will look like this:
Bama
Clem
Wash
OSU

Good luck vs Bama

You're delusional. They and the media want Meyer vs. Saban is the finals.

Certainly possible, but I think Washington's OOC schedule and poor conference will hold them back to 4.

Their best OOC win was a 48-13 win vs Rutgers in the first week of the year at home.

All I've heard the past few weeks from OSU fans is conference championships matter only for similar teams. Well, Clemson, Washington, and Ohio State are similar and in the end the lack of a Big 10 Championship won't knock them out of the top 4 but it will push them to 4th. Plus there's no guarentee they'd beat Clemson to get to the finals anyway

It certainly could happen that Washington could be in the 2/3 game.

But going by the AP poll just released, Wins vs Top 25 teams:

Ohio State: 4 (5, 6, 7, 23)
Clemson: 4 (12, 16, 18, 24)
Washington: 1 (17)

Not really comparable teams.

Not yet but they will be when Washington beats a top 10 Colorado team. And sure OSU blew out Nebraska but let's not pretend they are anything special. No better than a Utah or Washington St

Colorado's schedule is pretty solid and would be significantly improved if they beat UW. Sagarin has them at 23rd in SOS compared to 33 for Michigan, 39 for PSU, and 20 for Wisconsin

They would need to absolutely house UW along with Clemson losing and probably a terrible PSU-Wisc game to have any chance though.

Well now 3 teams from the Big 10 could get in... Michigan sits at #5 in the latest AP poll. So Ohio State could get in, If Washington or Clemson loses, Michigan could get in and then obviously the winner of the Penn State/Wisconsin game should get in. The Big 10 fix is in.

That 5, 6, 7 is gonna be pretty difficult to overcome for Washington at this stage if Oklahoma and Wisconsin win the games they're favored to win.

Is Western Michigan going to be the Group of Five representative?

I know Navy is lurking. I know WMU is having a truly unbelievable season, but I think it would be cool to see Navy in the Cotton Bowl too.

The big ten deserves just one team in playoff (the champion).

Again. If Arkansas did not convert that 4th and 25 against Ole Miss last season, would you have said that Alabama was not deserving of a playoff spot, despite being the eventual champion?

4 best teams should be in, conference championships be damned.
