Two players have demanded trades from Cincy. One said something much worse than what the other did, yet only one gets crucified for it.
Chad Ochocinco got singled out because of all the hoopla surrounding him...on and off the field.

Carmelo Anthony didn't get a bad rap for wanting out of Denver. Lebron James got a crucified because he made his exit out of Cleveland a media circus with "The Decision".

Not really. I give two shits about the NFL for the most part.

What part of his statement was arrogant?

Saying he would play for free. No he wouldn't. I consider it very arrogant to say something when you will NEVER have to back it up.

quote:

He plays for a ownership that is incompetent as any ownership in professional sports.

Cry me a fricking river.

quote:

Crucify the guy because he wants to win?

Nope. Crucify a guy who thinks he's better than he is and makes statements that he KNOWS he will never have to back up. Like I said, what are the odds he would ACTUALLY play for the league minimum given the chance?

Makes sense.

More than your defense of this douchebag.

He didn't say that. The OP is twisting the words around to prove his point. LINK

How is he a douchebag?

Through out his whole career he hasnt opened his mouth once, despite all the bullshite that has happened in cincy.

I am kind of surprised you do not remember the time he was pissed at Bengals fans for always talking about OSU because he hates the Buckeyes so much. It was not really a big deal, but he has opened his mouth before.

You really think this douchbag would play, "for the love of the game" for league minmum if the Steelers, Saints, packers or colts offered him the chance? No.

I don't really understand why any one thinks Palmer would get special treatment. not like he's ever done anything.

Wha? No it isn't. Latrell was basically saying he needed $5 million to feed his kids and $4 million wouldn't cut it. That's completely different from Palmer saying he is financially secure enough to not need to play football anymore.

I'm still not understanding how that makes him a douchebag? He's been there since 03 and wants a fresh start elsewhere. I personally think this would be good for both parties. Why does that make him a douche?

Still don't know where you're getting "league minimum". He said he has enough money to NOT play if he doesn't want to. He never said he'd play anywhere for league minimum. Stop twisting his words to prove your point.

Then he should let his lawyers handle it and STFU. He's a douchebag for how he says things, and for wanting people to believe he just plays, "for the love of the game." bullshite. He plays for the money people pay him.

See above. A non-douche would simply say, "I think it might be best if The Bengals and I parted ways."

I support Carson Palmer and what he said. Wish more athletes would say "screw this f**ked up team, take your money, Im gone" instead of " I wanna play with my friends so I'll take my talent to...."

I say Geaux Carson Palmer!!!!

Good point. He said he would retire before playing for the bengals again. He has never brought up league minimum so not sure why the OP is bringing this up.

He was saying that at first. Then Mike Brown's stupid arse comes out refusing to trade him, so Palmer ups the ante and says he will just take his ball and go home.

That's just it. He didn't.

All Palmer is saying is that he doesn't need to play footbal to earn an income. He has no problem retiring like Sanders did.

I hope he retires, but that means the Bengals are gonna draft Cam Newton and I am going to have an aneurysm.

NO, he didn't say "i don't have have to play football football for money, so i'll retire", he said, "I WILL play for love of the game." No he WON'T. He WILL play football for MONEY, and his self righteous act is douchebaggery at its finest.

either SS is doing some serious race baiting or he's just really dumb enough to think those 2 statements are even in the same ballpark

No he said "I WILL play for love of the game, not I'll retire." No, He'll get traded and negotiate for the biggest contract he can get!
