The one that got all of his hits in the MLB. This shouldn't be up for debate.

Its a fricking shame Ichiro didn't play his entire career in the MLB.

Why would we count home runs when evaluating their careers as neither are noted HR hitters. Ichiro also hasn't spent the entirety of his career in the MLB which isn't mentioned in the OP.

Iciro doesn't have 4256 hits in MLB. Professional baseball, sure, but Japan's professional leagues is not Major League Baseball.

Ichiro would easily be the hit king if he had played in the MLB his entire career. I give the nod to him in reality.

I like Ichiro and strongly dislike Pete Rose. But Pete Rose is the hit king. Pro Baseball in Japan =/= MLB

Well Ichiro was a better MLB player than Rose by a longshot. People like to mention that he played in an inferior league for half his career, but straight dominated his first 8 years here. Pete Rose will always be considered the hit king, but Ichiro would have been pretty close to 5000 hits if he started his career in the Majors.

Very debatable. What age would he have broke through into the majors? Do you think during the steroid era a single machine would be a hot commodity and not just relegated to AA or AAA?

The reality where he has 1300 less MLB hits?

Dude started his career at 18 so lets say he starts his MLB career at 20, he averaged 200 hits a year over the last 16 years, had he played his first 7 here and continued what he had done at an older age then he easily passes Rose.

This. Since Rose has all his hits in MLB he's it for me, but I wish Ichiro had played his whole career here to see where he would be. Irrelevant to the hit king debate, Ichiro also isn't a degenerate piece of shite

Why this is even a debate or so called controversy? Japan is not MLB… end of story. Why dont we just count Rose's minor league hits?? Just stupid

He averaged 183 hits a year from 2000-2015. He was a bench player until he was 20 in JPN. I'm sorry but he does not make it up until he is 22 at the earliest during the steroid era if he started in MLB.
