I head Mark Schlereth on the radio this morning and he said it's nothing and predicts no suspension.

Marshawn didn’t really do much wrong. The pussification of the NFL continues

I’m pretty surprised by some of the responses in this thread.

Anyone who has ever played any sport knows damn well that you never lay a finger on an official, no matter how light. It’s an auto-ejection. Without even thinking. And if the NFL shows that it’s okay to touch an official when you’re pissed off, it will become a regular occurrence.

The hammer should be dropped on Marshawn. Hard. But you never know with the NFL these days. There’s no standardization for punishment. It’s all arbitrary, and there is much arse to be kissed with the players’ union. So... fine, yes. Suspension? Who knows?

But not a big deal? Get out of here with that shite. Marshawn proves once again that he is one of the league’s leading assholes.

Then officials should not be allowed to touch players.

The slipper slope BS always makes me chuckle.

"If they don't come down hard, everyone is going to start shoving referees."

It's not. Thin Skin is overreacting.
I don't think it's a "big deal", but if I ran the NFL I would want to set a pretty strong precident that you can't run from the sidelines onto the field during a scuffle

The ref thing isn't really an issue

That's the worst part of the whole thing. Refs have been shoved before. It's an auto-ejection with no accompanying suspension.

The running from the sideline is what's gonna get him.

I didn't know this but apparently Lynch and Marcus Peters are cousins. He ran onto the field because to assist. Family does come first it seems. LINK

The ref.

Not questioning the ref's intentions, that's not my point. He kinda had Marshawn in a mini bear hug, he was trying to diffuse the situation.

I just don't think refs should be doing that if we're going to hold the players to this standard of Marshawn getting in trouble for the slighest possible shove he could have given the ref. It's not even fair to shoves to call that a shove.

Marcus Peters doesn’t think his hit on Derek Carr was dirty. And he wasn’t surprised that Marshawn Lynch left the sidelines to come to his aid.
wait
Now that's next level. Didn't see it unfold but when I heard it described last night I thought he was running to the field to come to the defense of his QB

First off...assault is a bit strong don't you think?
Battery maybe, but not assault.

FALSE... over inflated sense of importance and thinking they are untouchable is what is wrong with the NFL.

Donald Penn said Lynch was trying to break it up and get Peters to the Chiefs bench.
