I thought SI shut down??

Keep seeing articles but didn’t they fire all staff and close?

I think the print stuff shut down. Maybe they'll maintain a digital presence

They are just discontinuing the print edition. They will still do an online edition.

I got an SI in the mail today, has Ontani on the cover. Been getting them free for the past 6 months. Curious how long they will keep sending them.

Online will continue... commemorative issues will also continue (Super Bowl, World Series, etc.)

Think of them like the late stages of The Sporting News, except with AI and local beat writers winding down the life of a prestigious publication, to end in being Bleacher Report+, until someone shuts off the lights eventually.
