Since the football season is right around the corner, these always start making the rounds and I always get chills from them:

As cheesey as it is, I admit I like "row the boat"

minnesota may not do mucuh this season but fleck s going to do big things with them in a year or two. i feel like some of the douche bag crowd is gonna start giving him a hard time if they lose a couple but hes gonna real off a big win or two this year.

He will be at an elite program before too long. I think Notre Dame would be a great fit for him, but he's not leaving Minnesota after 1 year and I think another elite job will open up before Notre Dame is searching again.

I really like Fleck. That was also really cool to see. You can tell the team really likes him. Plus his moms reacation.

Row the Boat came to him after his newborn son died. He uses that term to live his sons life thru others. Really neat if you can find an article on it.

I did like this video, and it also showcases Minnesota's work in the community, but why do you think PJ Fleck will do big things in a year or two? Don't think you're necessarily wrong, because he is an incredible motivator, but I do think a couple questions need to be answered...
(1) Fleck has a history of isolating HS prospects from their parents/guardians, especially on unofficial visits when the aforementioned is not in attendance, and pressure kids to commit. Some do and stick. Others end up decommitting and Minnesota has had four in this class already. Can this type of recruiting be sustained at a P-5 school like Minnesota?
(2) Other than filling the class earlier, which has resulted in an inflated class ranking (has steadily dropped over the last month), quality-of-recruit has not been drastically different than it was under Jerry Kill or Tracy Claeys.
The cupboard is not bare for this season. Minnesota has a very good RB tandem and a couple anchors (Steven Richardson and Antoine Winfield Jr.) on defense. Six of their first seven games are an absolute joke, so 6-1 or 7-0 is not out of the question. Their final five will not be easy. Seven or eight wins this season should be attainable.

LSU should have hired him instead of BinderMan.

Yeah, that was awesome. Love seeing things like that.

He has zero connections to the south. His whole coaching career has been in the midwest/northeast. He would of had a huge hill to climb trying to out recruit people in SEC country. He will be an amazing coach in the big 10.

If you can recruit and coach, you will adapt
ETA: Urban was a Midwest guy, did fine recruiting in the south
Ed is a southern guy, did fine recruiting in Cali
I could go on and on and on

You just need the assistants that can make those inroads and I don't think they necessarily need to be from the area, just good recruiters. Maybe having a couple with connections is helpful to start out if you're not "from there". But I hate when our fan base says "we need someone with TX connections!!!". It hasn't worked out so well for us.

This matters more when you become more elite. In order to get there you got to be careful with the smaller 3 stars and just do very well coaching
