Forget 40 times, what if all of the NFL players raced a 5k. Who would win and in what time?

My pick JJ Watt (19:20)

Too heavy. Need a tall, lanky wide receiver that weighs no more than 220.

He would tire himself out from trying so hard and carrying a camera to show him trying hard

A young kicker that played soccer or ran in high school. They would destroy a wide reliever with no distance running experience.

I'd go with one of the return guys. A lot of them were track guys in high school.

Return guys aren't running a 5k in high school

You're right. Young kicker that played soccer growing up.

Not sure who it would be, but the time would be sub 18:00.

The answer will be a kicker or punter. You want slow twitch guys. I am sure there is a guy who can break 19:00 minutes, and I would think even 18:00 depending on their fitness. Once you go sub 17:00, you actually need to focus on running (unless you are already an absolute stud runner).

Scholarship worthy high schoolers run in the 15s. Just following the law that someone somewhere on an NFL roster could belt that out and you're way off on your time. likely a db or small receiver.
