I kind of thought he could operate similar to a Roger Craig (the pre-Marshall Faulk). Didn't expect consistent 1500 rushing yd seasons, but stuff like 800 rush/800 receiving to even maybe a season of 1000 each.

Saints would not have won that super bowl in '09 without him but injuries have kept Reggie from "star" status.

Solid player who went to unfortunate situations early in his career

Yeah because winning a SB is unfortunate as a key player in that Saints team.

Reggie was definitely overhyped but he has had a nice career. Not worth the #2 pick but a star level player, a SB ring and he got paid. Most players would love that career.

On the field? Not worthy of #2.

Off the field? Worthy. He was a great pick for the Saints at the right time...brought excitement, energy, hope, fans and jersey sales.

And he did have his moments despite the negatives. His reputation is hurt by the astronomical expectations b/c of what he did at USC.

He's a runningback that's on a Pro Bowl trajectory in his 8th year in the league. Fricking 7/10 IMO.

Not worthy of the #2 pick but he's gotten better every year he's been in the league. And he plays a position with an exceptionally high rate of attrition.
