Why on earth would you quickly put no?
Reading through it quickly, someone used to these questions immediately knows that the answer is not "yes," but fails to look at all options and just immediately chooses "no" over "yes." In other words, the test taker knows that the logical path is incorrect, so he automatically chooses "no."

That's pretty terrible reasoning But obviously valid based in a bunch of responses in this thread.

Yeah. I mean it is not really reasoning as much as carelessness/rushing. Logical path posed by question is incorrect, choose "no" and move on quickly.

And how does that make no more logical than yes, since that was your claim?

I think you're confusing what must be true with what could be true. We don't know for a fact that Alex isn't a sports fan. He very well could be. However, we don't KNOW it to be true. I'm not saying that Alex definitely isn't a sports fan, but that's not what the question is asking.

You earlier said no makes more sense than yes, but whatever.

I suppose the question could be ambiguous. I took it as saying "Is the final statement definitely true?" and you took it in a more literal sense. Okay... issue resolved

Please explain why no would be a better answer than yes.

Because of burden of proof.

Alex could clearly be loud and not a sports fan in this example.

If all loud people were sports fans, then clearly Alex would be a sports fan.
