One of 3 Walter Payton NFL man of the year finalists. This guy is one of the worst recidivist spousal abusers in the sport and he gets a pass from everybody.

HiS wrap sheet includes 24 police incidents
including punching women, and drunk driving. His girlfriend even stabbed him with a kitchen knife in self defense one night. The latest incident was in 2012.

All this blamed on "mental illness"

My grandfather was massive undiagnosed bipolar for decades and never ever layer a finger on anybody, he was nuts but never did anything like this.

How this guy gets a pass and is slobber ed over by Goodell and the media is beyond me.

Newsflash - famous people get treatment that you and I wouldn't. This isn't new.

Getting away with it is one thing, but the media slobbering over him a the NFL celebrating this creep is very sickening

He's changed a lot over time. He was a mess in Denver. That's why Mike Shanahan almost released him when he was head coach, and probably why Josh Mcfrickhead traded him a year after trading Jay Cutler.

It's always interesting how people on this site downplay mental illness.

So you believe people are incapable of changing?

Also isn't new. Pedophile directors are slobbered on in Hollywood all the time. It's wrong as hell, but it's the way it is.

I think its how open he has been about the whole thing, and how much he has done(a lot) to raise awareness for mental disorders.

Ray Rice has done more charitable and remorseful things than anyone and can't get a sniff by the league... Also, I gave a prime personal example of someone with "mental illness" that never did anything close to what Marshall did.

It is.

Take Tre Mason for example. The guy was a model citizen at Auburn, and by all means was the nicest and most well mannered player on the team. Now look at him...

Your example of one human with mental illness doesn't really do anything for your argument.

Huh, I haven't heard about that. What has he done to raise awareness for mental illness?

In his defense I don't think he's ever been involved in a crime as serious as murder, unlike Ray Lewis.

My suspicion for why he gets a pass and others don't is his appearance. He is good looking and has the smile of an innocent man. Is that fair? No, just dumb luck.

If you're "very sickened" by this, you don't have shite going on in your life.

Well he used to be kinda a mess, as you've pointed out in OP, but since, he sought help for his borderline personality disorder, has raised awareness re mental health, and by all accounts is a stand up guy who actively seeks to help others.

What don't you understand?

People look for any reason to be judgemental and assert their superiority. Actually trying to understand things takes too much patience and humility.

As pointed out, he's changed with treatment over the years.

I mean, frick, it's almost 2017. This is evidence of him being a better, more calm person today.

You're right. Everyone who is bi-polar reacts exactly the same way.
