How much would scoring go up if they implemented icing during power plays?

Someone posted some article the other day about 28 ways to make hockey better and that's really the only one that stuck with me.

What do you think?

While scoring would go up, i dont think this change is needed.

If the shorthanded team couldnt shift change after a clear, almost every PP would be a goal.

Hockey goals should be worth 7 points and Southerners would be impressed with the 35-21 score in tonight's game

Goals worth 6, and then a penalty shot for the extra point

Why do people always want to change rules to benefit offense? I say lets re-institute the 2 line pass rule and make hockey a game of hard work again.

If you want scoring to go up, expand the definition of interference to include any sort of prevention of a player going for the puck. The pass-to-themselves included. Also, expand the goal for giant goalies. Pick a goalie size (for example 6-foot tall and 200 lbs) and make any goalie larger than that have a proportionally larger net.

Power plays should end after any scored goal. Even a shorthanded one.

Do you think that they would purposely ice it?

That makes no sense. It's a timed penalty

What makes no sense about it?

That timed penalty ends early if the team with the advantage scores.

If they really want more scoring, they'd just get rid of offsides. Then we wouldn't have these lengthy slo-mo delays for skates on or off the ice at the blue line.

Removing icing from PP would be terrible.

quote:

2 line pass rule

This had to go once defenses starting playing better zones traps and interference wasn't as strict as it is now.

If they want to add it back, they have to figure out how to eliminate neutral zone traps.
