A lot more than you think. Both heisman winners coming out of college, both ran spread offenses, both were/are said to be extremely likable guys, both "students of the game" both were/are used to winning a bunch, both dual threat, both used to scoring 40+ points a game. The only difference I can think of coming out of college is size (adv. Mariota) and arm strength (adv. RGIII)
