For Trent Richardson, it's the same old story. And it could rob him of him any chance at rebooting his NFL career.

Richardson, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, has struggled with conditioning throughout his pro career and Ravens coach John Harbaugh believes the issue led to a hamstring injury that kept the running back out of the first week of OTAs.

"Trent just needs to get healthy," Harbaugh said, via ESPN.com. "I think the workload and the amount of work it takes to be a world-class conditioned athlete is something that he's working on right now. That's what he needs to understand, and that's where he needs to get himself."

The Ravens waited until April 18 to sign Richardson because they wanted to see if he could get into acceptable shape and stay that way. Weight issues and injuries have haunted Richardson during an unproductive NFL career that has included stops with the Browns, Colts and Raiders. He spent last season out of football.

"When he gets himself (in shape), he's got talent," Harbaugh said. "I'm very certain he'll get there. And when he does, we'll be able to evaluate him."

So..........Herschel?

Gotta be kidding me.

To be honest he's not going to beat out Kenneth Dixon anyway. Hope he's saving his money.

He needs to get with Eddie Lacy's trainer.

I never understand athletes like this, it's your job to be in game shape and such.

Then I remember how many terrible employees/managers I've worked with that couldn't do/didn't want to do the basics of their job.

If someone said all I had to do is work out and show up and I'd be a millionaire I would be in the best shape ever.

He doesn't even have to play. He's like 3rd string at best.

So what he's saying is they're going to cut him.

I think we need to re-rank the biggest busts in draft history. After the last few years of draft busts, is JaMarcus and Leaf still 1 and 2? I'm just asking.

JR and Leaf are on another level of draft busts. Richardson doesn't hold a candle.

He's a huge bust but "franchise runningback" is not even really a thing anymore.

Did we waste the name "feast mode" on the wrong bust of a running back?

You'd be making a ridiculous stretch to call Eddie Lacy a bust

I mean, there was an actual ongoing discussion on who was the better QB: Leaf or Manning.

Leaf had the measurables and he won at Washington State who had just previously produced Drew Bledsoe under the same system and coaching

4000 total yards and 29 touchdowns in 3 years from a mid-second round pick

They've called Ingram a bust too. Bama players have to be perfect every game of every season in order to avoid the label here

I'm not saying it was a dumb conversation. But with the benefit of hindsight, it's just crazy. Add to how much of a nutjob he ended up being, I'd put him #1 over JR.

I'm a Saints fan, and I just don't understand the hate he gets (other than the obvious LSU/Bama BS that seems to never go away). Ingram is on point when he's actually used. Saints just can't ever get a consistent flow in the running game.

I'm also a Saints fan and Ingram is a solid back that always makes the most of his opportunities.

It's not his fault Sean Payton insists on throwing 100 passes per game.
