I love how CNN reached out for expert opinion on the Michael Sam issue. You mean they couldn't find someone a bit more qualified to talk about respectable issues. Donte, as long as Micahael doesn't commit man slaughter while kissing and driving, he should be alright.

"Several of his colleagues went on a tirade including Dolphins safety Don Jones"

A tirade? Really?

Does CNN allow comments on articles?

Everyone should just write "horrible" regarding this article.

I do not understand why we need so many Michael Sam thread on TD. His sexual preference has no bearing on my life and I DGAF what he does on his own time.

Yes.

Jackie Robinson ,etc...would have gotten the same bigoted reaction had he kissed a White woman on TV .( It was a long time before interracial kisses were even allowed in media because of close -minded bigots like the ones at TD.)

Derrick Ward , Don Jones & the homophobes here may as well accustom themselves to men kissing.

Interracial kisses. Homosexual kisses. Bigots will have to adapt & get over themselves.

This is more a CNN thread than a Michael Sam thread.

i feel like colleague is purposely misleading. To me, a colleague is someone you work with, more of a teammate. Jones holds the same position (nfl football player), but at a different company and they've presumably never met

But I guess tirade and colleague sounds more outrageous than guy of equivalent position and wasn't completely supportive

It's not about that. Yes, as a straight man, I find it absolutely disgusting and appalling to see two men kissing. This is about how much attention this is getting and how much Michael Sam is fueling the fire. He says he doesnt want the attention and just wants to be a football player, it's not about him, it's about the team, etc....Well, bullshite. If it was all about football, he wouldnt have smeared cake all over his bf's face and started making out with him. In the history of the NFL draft, have you seen any draftee, especially a late rounder do that to his girlfried? No, you havent. He did that knowing the cameras were on him and knowing it would get a rise out of people. It was all for show. If he wants to be a good teammate, and truly not make it about his sexuality, he needs to tell ESPN and NFL Network to GTFO when they throw there cameras in his face because they are obviously only doing it because he's gay, unless they have always done this for 6th round obscure linebacker prospects. Well, he doesnt. He lives it up basking in the drama (just like a female would, go figure) and enables the media circus. THAT is why people are already fed up with this bullshite.

I don't think it's about Sam as much as about how much the media forces it on us and tries to make it out to be some wonderful thing and anybody who feels otherwise is somehow wrong for doing so.
