I've been watching golf for a long, long time. I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've seen someone 5 putt a green.

I met him briefly after the AJ Green game in 09. Toms was on the field and as I was walking off I told him I was a pretty big fan (and yes, I was pissed at the time.) Couldn't have been a nicer guy.

He tailgates on side of us when I lived there. Really nice guy.

I met DT in the CBS compound at Castle Pines. I think it was 1999 the year he won The International. We chatted for probably 10 minutes. 30 seconds about golf and 9 1/2 minutes about LSU football.

I have run into him 3-5 times over the last 20 years but he has always stopped to say hello and talk. Very good guy.

Tom doesn't "move the needle." Talking with the GC people here, they are only interested in golfers that are hot and that can draw viewers. Reality that we live in. More viewers is something they sell to advertisers. Advertisers mean more MONEY.

Not really. They like having stories about golfers making a comeback. Or new comers. They have none on him because he hasn't been up there lately.

I suspect DT is looking forward to the Champions Tour. He can't keep up with the kids today hitting 7 irons 200 yards.

agree with the op ... golf coverage is horrible ... Phil might move the needle for some, but when he or anyone else is struggling to make the cut, I don't care ... that's just me, and I'm sure the tv execs couldn't care less ...

Just finished the replay and my complaint is that they hardly showed Tiger. Really wanted to see what he was doing today.
