Going to Boston in August, while there the Sox are playing the Yankees. They have some high priced tickets I could get online but I was wondering what my chances of getting Tickets at the park would be?

I've got a brother right outside of boston, and always take in a game when I go visit. I've never had problems getting tickets at the stadium the day of the game.

You're gonna pay out the arse though.

How much is out the arse? I can find tickets online for around $150 a piece- 1st/3rd base line mid level. In your opinion would I pay more on game day?

Went to red sox mets game and spent 150 a ticket online. Guy sitting next to me spent 250 outside the stadium. I don't know if that's the norm though

Definitely buy them online rather than outside the stadium. Stubhub and ebay are both viable options

These are the seats I had for 150. Try to find an in life shor of your seat to make sure you are not directly behind a pole. There are about 10 seats that are atrocious

Yeah, you're probably gonna pay about $100 more before the game than you will online. Last time I went there and watched a game, I took in the middle game of a series with the Rays. I was on the first base line, mid-way between the dugout and the right field fence. I paid about $200 a ticket.

Fenway is a must watch. I love that park.

Fenway is one of those places where you're going to pay an arm and a leg no matter who or when they play. They sell out every game. Buy the tickets now, each day those tickets will get more and more expensive.

Yankees/Red Sox, fighting for the division in August with great teams? Yeah, you'll be looking around $300 if not way more outside the stadium on game day.

It's simply not true that tickets are more expensive day-of. They're typically less expensive, because people would rather deal with a reputable online agency and have the tickets in hand in advance than deal with some shmuck on the street. That being said, the peace of mind of having them in hand in advance is often very much worth the cost, and the selection is much more diverse online that it'll be on the street. I'd recommend waiting until a few weeks in advance of the game, because prices are typically inflated well in advance (just the way college football ticket prices are inflated in the offseason and go down a bit once the season starts).

Your post seems like it contradicts itself. twice.

At least the way I read it.

How so? I said that it's more expensive in advance of the game than day-of, but if you're gonna buy in advance of the game, wait a few weeks before (as opposed to a few months before). Buying in advance is probably the best bet for someone who is coming from out of town, even if it's a bit more expensive.

Prepare yourself for the obvious shock of seeing nothing but white guys scalping tickets.
