Did your crew get picked this year to work any of the state championship games?

You don’t have to say which ones if so. I was just curious .

I feel this thread would be a better fit on the ATL Sports board. Atlanta is basically Georgia. The state finals games are also held in Atlanta. I also feel the majority of these teams are within a 60 mile radius of Atlanta metro. It just feels like the perfect post on the ATL Sports board, yo.

AAAAAAA: Carrollton

Going to be very interesting the next couple of years with Carrollton's QB, a ninth grader, and Thompson, AL's QB an 8th grader.

Both leading their schools to the championship games. Going to be some wild recruitments.

Thomson sure rebounded well after a first game loss at home to Burke county. They've reeled off 13 straight since. Probably got their hands full with Fitzgerald though

Our association got 2, both on Friday.

AA final between Thomson and Fitzgerald and the 6A final between Gainesville and Langston Hughes.

One way to watch it from out of state is on GPB Sports twitter. We can't log on and watch it on their website. They'll have a tweet you can click on and watch the games live.

ETA: I wish Louisiana supported their schools by broadcasting high school football all year long, including these championships. They show all sports on there. They are currently showing girls high school flag football on there. Here's the link to their Flag Football Division 3 state championship.

There will be a similar tweet to the above flag football tweet when the regular football games are airing.

Unfortunately, no. We got to the 2nd round(Rabun Co./Social Circle) but that was it.

We did have a crew work a quarterfinal, but that was as far as any association crew of ours got, and has got. We have never had an association of crew get past that round(And frankly, we should of had a crew work a semi last year but I digress). We have had 3 individual officials work finals on mixed crews. And 1 worked a semi.

I did have Cedartown in the first round this year. They will probably beat Benedictine IMO.

I always put it here and on the ATL sports board, just haven't got around to putting it on the latter yet.

Bowdon just took the lead 7-0 on Schley County. If them and Carrollton can both win you'd have two teams in the same county winning a state title. IDK when was the the last time that happened. Maybe just a couple on of years ago with Grayson and Buford?

Do you know why the state changed 7A classification this year? My school was 7A for years but is now 6A even though we have more students enrolled than many 7A schools.

They did a mid-cycle reclassification.

James hasn’t officiated in several years. Strictly an administrator these days. Clifton was a white cap this year, but neither crew is his.

Josh Sellers and Greg Norton are our white caps in the finals.

ETA: Our association officiated 2 of the 8 flag football finals. Two of them had teams from our association, so it really was 2 of 6.

That's right. I remember now that Clifton is now a white hat.

I didn't know that about James.

Greg. . He's a good guy but he will talk your ear off.

One of our teams won the flag football title (Lithia) and another one of our teams (Langston Hughes) is playing for a title tomorrow night. If they of had a kicker last year they'd be going for B2B titles. They had Buford beat.

Another one of our teams, St.Francis, made the semis.
