NHL game with those small markets is comical

SJ is a big market. 6 million in the 6 SF Bay counties.
most people in SF area do not care about hockey.

You get the 25,000 season ticket holders. Boston and Chicago and NYC people who had to move to south bay for high tech work.
So they fill up the stadium. but its not really like football, baseball and basketball. We know those people are here because they show up at A's games rooting for the Red Sox, wearing Red Sox stuff and wearing red sox stuff year round, and for Yankees games, Yankees hats too.
A's sell out when the Red Sox come to town. THOSE are your SJ hockey fans.

I live north of SF Bay area, in a very rural area.
You see Giants hats, A's hats, all the Niners and Raiders gear, and cars decked out with the W's logo, cars decked out with Giants logos.

There were W's colors up and down the street the past few days.

LOL at NHL game 1 ratings,

Well If it was Chicago vs. Pitt it would have made some difference... But hey, San Jose is not a hockey hotbed with Oakland so close... The NHL is an eastern Sport....
