Josh Pastner's ability-to-recruit has never been questioned.
Even when Memphis fell on hard times, he still was able to reel in multiple four-star players, including Illinois' Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Player of the Year, Charlie Moore, who just de-committed when news regarding Pastner accepting a position at Georgia tech was reported.

HOLY shite I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL TO GEORGIA TECH.
Memphis took one of the worst contracts in the sport's history and suddenly get to keep roughly $9.3M that they were otherwise going to have to pay Pastner. (So that maroon on the second page talking about not being able to afford a better coach is out to lunch here.) I love this AD and President so much right now. That is some sorcery.
