What are the Mainboard's thoughts on this upcoming game?

Do yal think Louisville is for real?

Does the Lamar Show continue, or does he come back to Earth this week?

I was originally thinking FSU would take this, but the news of James being out throws a huge wrench into that prediction. He'd be the kind of freak who'd be tailormade to slowdown someone like Jackson. Without him I'm really thinking Louisville could give FSU a real scare.

What's everyone else thinking? Also, gotta love the ACC scheduling this game at noon. We can't even get out of our own way .

I don't see Louisville beating us. Lamar Jackson is good, but I think he is playing out of his mind. He threw for close to 1900 yards last year, already has 700, and threw for 12 TDs last year and already has 7. I believe we will contain him but I am bias, and when you throw a bunch of 18-21 year old kids in the mix you never know what is going to happen! I love college football though!

i think Louisville wins. Only because of what Houston did with a similar offense in the bowl game

Yeah WTF

The Following games got better spots on ESPN's family of networks.

Michigan St vs Notre Dame
A&M vs Auburn
USC vs Stanford

As for Louisville, They gave Clemson and FSU a couple scares already. I'd expect them to play us tough but I have no idea how good they are.

I was considering going to that game if it was at least a 2:30 game.

What the hell I still might go

That's wasn't the ACC who scheduled the game. it was ABC/ESPN.

I'm happy it's at 11:00

Tailgate will have some solid games

Watch FSU/Louisville at 11:00am ABC
Watch Alabama/Ole miss at 2:30pm CBS

Lamar will be ripe for the picking. Get a few pick 6s and put it out of reach.

Going to be an interesting test for Francois, too.

Louisville's front seven is awfully salty - think it's probably the best FSU will see this year including Ole Miss and Clemson. Kelsey, Hearns, Fields, and Brown are all NFL players. On the other hand, they've had trouble figuring out Dalvin Cook both of the last two years.

Louisville still has some questions to be answered on the offensive line. They look better, but they haven't really been tested. Walker is going to give them fits. Louisville's skill players are better than generally given credit. Quick, Staples, and Hikutini (if he doesn't get a case of the dropsies) are a nice set of pass-catchers, and Radcliffe is pretty tough, too.

True. Louisville's defensive schemes are always really exotic and extremely well-coached. They also have a ton of horses this year. I'd say Clemson probably has them by a hair because of the DL, but they have us for sure at LB.

The time was announced preseason, doesn't that mean it was conference-driven.

There's no way you can tell me ABC preferred Oregon-Nebraska. Idk if anyone outside those two fanbases even know they're playing.

Hadn't thought of this angle, definitely adds a little more fuel to the thought process of Louisville pulling it out.

His current pace is clearly unsustainable, but the kid is beyond talented.

Say what you want about Chad Morris' ability to call plays (he frustrated the hell out of me at times), but the man knows QBs. He found Deshaun when Deshaun was a sophomore and said he'd be the best QB Clemson could ever sign. Then Chad Kelly was the top QB on his board the year he committed.

The year Jackson committed, he was the top QB on Chad's board. The kid is crazy good. I'm terrified of him as our LBs are big and strong but a step slow this year .

Just heard Derwin James is out. That is a huge loss. Thinking Louisville wins this now still will be close
