In Harrington’s first stop, in Detroit, he writes that playing for Steve Mariucci “crushed me.” Harrington tells a story about how he asked Mariucci to let him throw the ball downfield more often, and Mariucci responded by getting up and brushing his teeth before telling Harrington he had to leave to give some interviews.

If you didn't think JH was a giant pansy before this, what reason do you have now?

The poor baby's feelings aren't allowed to get hurt by that big bad football coach.

You can always tell the people who took the time to read the actual article and those who skim the OP.

Harrington is pretty candid about his shortcomings and why he failed in the NFL.

Mariucci was great. There is an overwhelming support and appreciation of his coaching from the players when he was in SF. Joey Harrington sounds like an entitled QB.

Harrington, who’s widely remembered as a draft bust in Detroit, says that his problems there stemmed from the coaches and players not having faith in him.

Still not accountable for his own shortcomings.

A 5 yard out route would have been considered too risky of a pass for that regime.

I read the whole thing and for years never liked Joey, nor respected him, he's always been soft!

That quote I posted just summed up Joey and his career IMO.

Sorry you have to carve out an hour in the privacy of your own home to deal with the mental rigor that comes with an article from si.com about Joey Harrington.
