My point here is that the problem is NOT a one year problem. It is a bigger problem than wwhat happened to FSU.

I mean, it’s always been a problem, but I don’t remember it being THIS bad is my point. If FSU had had one loss, fine. But a team getting bumped out for winning their conference championship is why we have the committee. The BCS used to do stuff like this.

Yet, to have Michigan in and FSU out is a travesty.

Outside of OSU and Penn State Michigan played a shite schedule.

At least FSU scheduled viable OOC competition. It’s not their fault the ACC this year decided to beat each other up more than usual.

FSU 55 SOS and struggled in their CG: left out
UM 51 SOS and struggled in their CG: #1 ranking

That’s bullshite.

LOL! I am not a fan of any of the teams, so I am staying objective. When people let emotions get involved, rationale easily gets thrown out the window. Maybe it is the military training, too. You do so many drills that you get emotions beat out of you.

I understand everyone's emotion. I really want them to use an objective approach to get the best teams. I don't see how you can just say "We went undefeated!" as a basis to get in because the conferences are not close to being equal. There are teams in each conference that can be considered comparable - yes. But, the depth of quality in the conferences varies from year to year. Comparing these 2:

1) 13-0 against a combined 77-79, with wins against #13, #16

2) 12-1 against a combined 98-62, with wins against #6, #11, #13, #21; only loss to #3

Resume #2 is objectively better than #1. There is no way around it. #1's best win was the 3rd best win for #2. This shows the difference in the level of competition between the conferences.

When you have to say you scheduled 2 SEC schools as a point to improve your SOS, that tells you something about the SEC strength. And, Bama has to play those SEC schools almost every week. "But, they play cupcake schools for OOC games!" Hell, they need a breather when they play a gauntlet of a schedule every single week within conference.

If we want to be like the pros, then get rid of the conferences as they are, and build them like the pros.

Clemson and Utah won their conferences and got left out last year in favor of Ohio St, who didn't even play in their championship game. That was even crazier, wouldn't you say?

I am in partial agreement. I would have left Georgia in over Michigan and FSU. They got bumped from #1 to #6 after losing by 3 in their 1st loss in 29 games...and their SOS was much better than Michigan and FSU

Not even in the same universe. It’s not just about the conference championship. Clemson had 2 regular season losses.

That was my point. You said "A team being bumped for winning their conference championship" was not fair. Last I checked, all 4 of the teams in this year also won their conference. The 1 left out won the weakest conference. If they had said that, it would have still been a hard pill to swallow. But, they said it was solely because of Travis' injury, and all hell broke loose.

The best late night drama television would have live coverage of the college football committee discussing and then voting on who gets into the playoffs!!!

They need to look in the mirror and get out of their shitty conference.

One way to Fxxk ACC, my local stream/cable only carry ACC, no SEC. Is this one of reasons two local teams going to ACC? Hate it or not, I still have to subscribe ESPN+.

Georgia’s SOS was 45…

Though I agree, they’re probably one of the best 4, but that’s opinion.

The metrics on SOS of 45/51/55 with 51 and 55 going undefeated leans towards leaving 45 out.

1 - SOS #8 Undefeated Washington
2 - SOS #51 Undefeated Michigan
3 - SOS #55 Undefeated FSU
4 - SOS #2 One loss Texas
5 - SOS #8 One loss Bama
6 - SOS #45 One loss Georgia

But in reality, they probably got it right, except UM at #1 and in over Georgia.

You don’t see the difference between losing a game and winning the conference, and going undefeated and winning the conference? Sorry, can’t go there with ya then.

You’re wrong, also. It was solely because of Jordan Travis’s injury and anyone who thinks otherwise is a total moron.
