Favre, Marino, Manning, Brees, Brady and future possible career stats

Brees and Brady may be battling for 2nd behind Favre in all these categories. If Peyton plays again, he might set the 2nd place bar a bit higher.
75 more games for Brees with an average of 20 completions for 285 yards and 2 TDs would put him into 2nd unless Manning and/or Brady play long enough to also pass Marino.
Staying healthy is obviously the key. Manning is 35, Brady is 34, and Brees 32. Brees would have to still be playing at a high level at the age of 37 to play in 75 more games.

Brees will pass Marino in yards, completions, TDs not as certain.
I doubt he passes Favre, and we have to see what Manning does.

I don't see it. He'll have to average 4,000 yards over the next 5 seasons to do so. I don't seem him playing more than 3 more years and that's assuming he has a great bill of health. One bad injury or hard hit or torn ligament and it's a pipedream.

He's about to sign a 5 or 6 year deal w/ the Saints. He'll be playing next 5 years fa show. He'll avg' at a minimum probably 4400 yards the next three years. That's a minimum. 4th and 5th years, i doubt there's too much of a dropoff but most of it will become gravy. He needs to avg 4200 yards next 5 years to pass marino.

The guy turns 33 in a couple of weeks. I don't see him playing at a high level until he's 38-39. His arm strength isn't that great right now and will only go down with age, but he's managed to make it up with accuracy. Chances are that will decrease as well as it naturally does for players.
Then you have to consider his supporting cast: Will Payton still be there if someone offers him more money? I know Saints fans tend to think they are some elite franchise that everyone wants to be a part of, but reality says otherwise. Whenever Jerry Jones comes to his senses and cans Jason Garrett, you better believe he'll come calling for Payton. Jerry Jones can easily drop $10 mil a year on a coach without hesitation.
We're also assuming that the offensive line will stay intact and continue to give him arguably the best pass protection in the league as well. One guy leaves or gets hurt and that could put an aging quarterback having to run around more or get planted more times than he wants to.
Then there is the issue of keeping a great diverse offensive supporting cast in tow. Will they be able to lockdown their defensive stars, the stud lineman, resign Brees to what will surely be a 8 figure a year contract AND give the offensive weapons like Colston, Meachem, and Graham the big contracts they want?
That's all assuming he doesn't run into any health problems.
Can Brees pass Marino? Sure it's theoretically possible. However, I don't see it happening.

hilarious. But yeah, um payton just signed this thing called an extension for another 4 years after this season. He can't go anywhere no matter if jerry jones wants to pay 15 mill a season. Money can't buy you love. Money can't buy you happiness. And Money won't buy you Payton before 2015.

I dont see why any established coach would want to work for Jerry. He interferes ALL THE TIME plus hes the GM. His drafts are usually pretty good at the top end but he has been terrible in the later rounds and has had to rely on some UFAs to even make it passable.

Besides Meachem, who really seems to be the least valuable among the receiving group, none of them are first round picks. The Saints look for guys who work hard and they tend to find sleepers. If any of them want a huge contract, the team can find someone else to fill the role.
Brees has made the receiving group what they are today. They are obviously talented, but none of them would be as good with any other QB besides maybe Manning, Brady or Rodgers.

Coaches get out of contracts all the time. If Jones, Snyder, or hell even Kraft if Belicheck retires soon, want Sean Payton, they will get him. Plain and simple. The Saints don't have an owner anywhere near as dedicated to putting forth money to a coach like those 3 guys are.

Jerry just needs a coach who will either stand up to him or just play so good that Jerry will be patting himself on the back so much for getting him that he won't be able to pester him.

Didn't Brees have a perfect or near perfect passer rating when throwing to Meachem either last year or in 2009?
Draft position really is irrelevant once you've been in the league a few years. Outside of the top 10-15 picks, no one gives a damn if you were the 20th pick or the 200th pick. You are expected to perform at a high level.
As for Brees making that wide receiving group what they are, I disagree. They are a talented group independent of who is throwing them the ball. Just like Denver/Cleveland's receiving corps would be hot garbage no matter who was throwing to them, the same could be said for the Saints having a great receiving corps no matter who is throwing to them. The same could be said for New England to a degree, but that's more dependent on their system and other factors, but that's for another discussion.
Saints fans seem to overvalue Brees (who is a damn good quarterback) and undervalue the fact that they have the best offensive mind in the NFL at Head Coach right now.
