Exec: Lamar Jackson looks like first overall pick, Watson doesn't

The scoop: "The thing I took away from the (Clemson-Louisville) game is that Lamar Jackson has the look of a first (overall) pick, but I don't think (Deshaun) Watson has the same look." -- NFC executive on Louisville QB Lamar Jackson and Clemson QB Deshaun Watson
The skinny: "Look" is a very subjective scouting term, but this executive clearly sees things in Jackson that he doesn't see in Watson. Watson was expected to build on his strong 2015 campaign with the return of wide receiver Mike Williams. Instead, NFL personnel men have been underwhelmed by Watson's 2016 season. Watson has 14 touchdowns and 7 interceptions and has seen his completion percentage drop from 67 to 60 while his yards per attempt are down over a full yard. On the flip side, Jackson has taken a massive step forward as a playmaker and gamebreaker. He has NFL scouts paying attention to him despite the fact he's only a true sophomore and won't be eligible for the draft until 2018 at the earliest. Watson threw for five touchdowns and three interceptions in the matchup against Louisville, but it was the strong second-half performance by Jackson that grabbed scouts' attention.
Do you still believe Watson goes #1? I do think someone like Deshone Kizer might be able to pass him up.

I'd trade down with the first pick.

And they are absolutely correct.
Jackson outplayed Watson in that game.
And Watson has regressed this year overall.

Watson hasn't played to the level he's capable this year. I expect his numbers to get better the 2nd half, he started kind of slow last year as well

I think Kizer is a better pro prospect and said as much six months ago. Watson locks in way too much, is shaky on accuracy especially underneath and mid-range, and can't throw going left to save his life. I also think he gets bailed out quite a bit because he has a great cast around him. He actually reminds me a lot of Brady Quinn.
It's too early to tell with Jackson. He has made enormous strides since last year, but he needs to improve his touch, and he still has a tendency to bail on his reads too early and tuck.

I think Watson has a dumb face. Does that count?

This is my reaction to this thread. There's only one answer who not only the No. 1 pick is, but also who the best quarterback is.

I agree. Watson has been disappointing and I still have doubts about Jackson as a pro prospect. Kaaya is legit

Just because you love the guy doesn't make it untrue.
Quinn was actually pretty athletic in his own right. He ran a 4.72 at the combine - I am betting Watson runs around a 4.65 or 4.60. Solid arm, smart guy who knew the game well, receivers to bail him out, consistent accuracy issues especially mid-range, probably too many INTs taking risks, trouble going to one side of the field, on and on. Watson isn't the best QB prospect in this draft by a long shot.

Watson still trying to be the perfect pocket passer. We know he can throw, but he's less aggressive running the ball because of it. Jackson isn't worried about the dual threat QB label and looks like he has better instincts because of it.

Yes. The Bears will have the #1 pick, he cannot be any worse than Cutler.

Jackson is so incredible. He is so small, though. I don't know how well he will play at the next level.
Me? I like Kizer A LOT. Dude is big, has a rocket arm, great mobility.

I can gurantee you Lamar Jackson won't be the #1 overall pick. It's October...

Did the Browns fold and I didn't hear about it or something?

Jackson will end up like RG3. Too slight of build.
