According to Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski, "evidence continues to build" that the Eagles plan to trade up for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota.
We've followed Kempski's work for years and can't ever remember him being wrong. Most notably, he called the DeSean Jackson release well in advance. Kempski acknowledges he previously believed Philly moving up for Mariota was "unrealistic," but now "it appears the Eagles are determined to get their guy." Moving up from No. 20 into the top-two picks would likely cost Philadelphia most of its 2015 draft class, in addition to a 2016 first-round pick.

Not worth it, Mariota is not the next coming of Elway or Manning

Will a move like this put Chip Kelly on the market down the road?

Nah. Perfect QB for his system. Probably the only system Mariota would really fit into anyways.

Sure he will... But they would be giving up WAY to much .

Another example of why not to give a coach GM powers.

That didn't really work when Spurrier brought in Shane Matthews and Danny Wuerffel to play for the Redskins. Those were two marginal QB talents who people thought could run their college coach's system in the NFL and failed miserably. Mariota is a marginal talent. We'll see.

As a Titans fan, I hope they do. I doubt we'd get a steal like the Rams got for RG3, but a bunch more picks would be nice.

If he hadn't of ended up getting injured it would have worked out. He led them to the playoffs in his rookie season and was really good.

And then he proceded to run off the man who made it all happen.

Mark it down, he will be a bust and Nick Foles will be a better player when both careers are said and done.

This reeks of Steve Spurrier signing Wuerffel to the Redskins.

I get that he knew Kelly's system at Oregon but that doesn't mean he's an NFL QB.

He was a diva no doubt, but if he hadn't have gone on to have those injuries you never know what would have happened.

Winning cures a lot of things, and they would have continued to win if his knees didn't turn into a marshmellows

He still would have ran off Shanahan and they would be were they are today. looking back now, it was a horrible trade

Both Kelly and Mariota make better NFL prospects than Spurrier and Wuerffel. Still a very dumb idea. When has given up so many assets for one prospect every truly worked out in the past?
