Got to see my son's team play Evangel tonight here in Northwest Arkansas. Great weather. Great game. Shiloh won 37-36 in a nailbiter with incredible plays all around. Which Evangel players is LSU recruiting? REceivers for Evangel named Thomas and Bridgewater look fast and big. Evangel's punter and kicker is excellent all around. Great hang time. Great distance on leg. Kicked two 42 yard field goals with plenty room to spare. Also Evangel has a smaller guy named Virgil something who is fast as sin. What say you?

honestly I thought it was a very poorly played game, Evangel looked very undisciplined. I do not know much about the competition, but that was not an Evangel team of the past for sure.

How tall is Evangel's QB? He's gotta be under 5'9

Shiloh is ranked in the top ten in some national poll's. Shiloh's qb already has offers from Tulsa, Arkansas, and Auburn. Shiloh's offensive line is one of the best in the country with incredible strength.

well,I guess that helps, but they still looked bad, Miscues they usually dont make and just out of rythm.

Not trying to bring you down, you should be very proud, but Evangel has lost it's edge.

I've seen Evangel play before. I saw Springdale rip em a new one two years in a row. IS that the Evangel of the past you speak of?

Evangel may have been out of sinc, I don't know. Alot of that may have had to do with the strength of the o-line and d-line for Shiloh.

Evangel's qb seemed to play with considerable poise for his first year. Evangel's players played hard.

They were not in sinc like the game against Shiloh last year. Shiloh was really out of sinc last year. Also Shiloh is a better team this year than last.

Shiloh is good. They beat 7A FAyetteville last week 35-5 in a scrimmage. Fayetteville is no slouch.

Well the Greenwood Bulldogs are going to beat Shiloh Christian Sept 19. Teams around the state of Arkansas call it the "University of Greenwood" for a reason. Greenwood has a white RB named Travis Green #31...dude is a stud. Green plays LB too and always has some good hits. Also, they have a WR named Spencer Harris that will be playing at Tulsa or Arkansas next year. Greenwood Coach Rick Jones officially has a dynasty after winning the 5A state championship 3 out of the last 4 years. I predict Greenwood to pull off the upset at home.

Maybe he meant the evangel that drummed Shiloh Christian last year...

But I think he meant when they were actually good... Mid and late 90's. When they has legit big school talent all across the board

Hit Search and you'll find multiple threads on the game. The refs handed that game to Shiloh multiple times. Evangel lost that game before the coin toss. No way in hell Shiloh is a top 10 team, not top 25 either. With nonbiased refs, Evangel wins that game by 3-4 touchdowns. This is coming from someone that hates Evangel too btw. That game was stolen from them last night.

You have to understand something about ECA. If you would have been playing the ECA of the 90's and early 2000's, that game last night would have been over when the team got off the bus. ECA is a shell of what they use to be. All the talk about ECA being this awesome team is going off the memories of the past. ECA, being a private school with no restrictions to districts can attract players from all over the US. They had an enrollment of 200 plus but had a football team of around 100. They were a 1A team playing at the highest level in LA which is 5A. LHSAA voted to make teams play in their own classification and ECA was hit hard. The luster of playing 5A schools and powerhouses across the US was gone and now you have the kind of team that was on the field last night. And they still almost won last night. Don't be too proud of Shiloh. They really do any thing all that special.

Agree with JJ, Evangel had 2 or 3 long TD's called back when flags came out after the player was almost in the end zone.

This Evangel team wants no part of John Curtis, they aren't the Evangel of old.....of course the old Evangel couldn't beat Hahnville in the finals in 03 either.

Isn't that the year Booty fricked them by skipping his senior year? Pretty sure they win with JD.

Not sure about Booty, one of the Duron's was QB and Hester was the all-purpose guy. They couldn't match our size or speed that year. Largest Hahnville lines ever; we usually don't have real big players.

I watched this game off an on. The officials were terrible. Either the fix was in or these guys have never watched a football game.

Yeah Booty skipped town and left them high and dry. Hahnville beat them 41-35 in the Dome. Sorry, but I'd have to take Evangel to win that one with JDB. HUUUUUUUUUUUGE difference between him and Duron. The lines don't matter with them, that's why they have the QB so deep in the backfield.

by hearing some of you talk, you would think that the evangel of "today" is chopped liver. I agree they may not be the team of the 90's that they once were but they still are at the top of the class in louisiana football. let's not forget that super team was split when the school split in half...at any rate they play barbe, sulphur and st. thomas more from what most say is usally the best 5a district in LA so let's see how bad poor evangel is then. hat's off to Shiloh your kid's played hard but you have to admit that you were handed a few gifts. the penalties were evangel 16 shiloh 2

Put it this way....Shiloh is the BEST arkie has to offer. Evangel isnt even the best team in its classification. I dont know how much Flyfishin knows about O-line play but if he/she thinks Shiloh's is one of the best in the country he/she is incredibly ill-informed. Evangel is by far the best team Shiloh will face this year. By the way Flyfishin, do you not remember what Evangel "of the past" did to Springdale the first time they met?
