For those who do not believe POLITICS will play a part in the Championship Playoff...

if Pat Hayden is willing to go down on the field to try to influence refs...you do not think he will try to influence the selection process ???

Everyone knows politics will play a part. Everyone was laughing at you for thinking it only plays a part now and hasn't in the past.

The all SEC NCG had awful ratings. It likely was the 2 best teams, but no one cares about that honestly. They care about the most $. The most money will be generated by 4 of the 5 power conferences being in the games to draw interest from most of/if not all of the geography in the country.

I can understand the rest of the country hating an all-SEC NCG. But if part of the selection committee's unspoken criteria is going to be money and geography then this system is no better, maybe worse than the BCS.

Well it won't be worse because it will generate more teams having a chance. For example, not many people thought MSU was better than FSU last year, but they may have gotten their chance to prove everyone wrong.

The system needs to be set up in a way to where every power conference gets its champion in. It is not fair that a team who goes 11-2 in the SEC, potentially playing 3 top 20 road games, is left out of a playoff when there is a Big 12 team who plays 2 ranked teams, both at home, and finishes 11-1, or a B1G team who goes undefeated but only beats 1 ranked team all year.

A 10-3 SEC champ should be in the playoffs, just as a 10-3 B1G champ should be in it. A lot of development happens between September and January, and teams who play each other in September will likely not have the same result come January (maybe the same team would win, but by a different margin through a different avenue etc)
