it's not who's most athletic.
it's just best athlete.

and i dont know if any of you heard Keegan Bradley on SVP the other day, but he said he was shocked at how athletic Tom Brady was on the basketball court recently.

And to be clear, Tiger Woods is both a great athlete and also athletic.

Now, he doesn't have to be athletic to be a great golfer, but I'll just note for the record that he is.

As an aside, Oscar De La Hoya was asked several years ago what athlete in another sport would be a great boxer, and he answered Tiger Woods. Because of the way he's built. And I agree. He has that Tommy Hearns / Alexis Arguello build where he's long and strong but doesn't carry weight.*

*This was true in his early years. He did add weight later in his career, but that doesn't change his build.

Nice appeal to authority. Glad you found the opinion of some random dude on the internet writing a blog out of his mom's basement to be the final word. I certainly wouldn't, and it doesn't matter how reputable or sketchy the site is. So don't bother linking it.

Other than that, great post.

They should have just left soccer out entirely instead of half arse trying to put them in the rankings. Messi is easily a top 3 athlete of the last 20 years, and there are other soccer players that should have been on here, Ronaldo and Zidane for sure. Having arguably the greatest player of all time at no 12 behind Shaq, Kobe, and Jeter is a joke. They're clearly weighting the fact that soccer isn't as popular in the US as the other sports and penalizing Messi and other soccer players for it. Which is fine, but if you're going to do that then just don't even bother at all.

I'm not saying I disagree with this completely, but to say Messi is better at his sport than Shaq was at his is subjective. Shaq was the best player in the league for a 5 year period. Messi should absolutely be ahead of Jeter considering he isn't a top 10 baseball player in the last 20 years

Mayweather, Both and Favre should be higher. Favre's injury record alone speaks for itself.

Considering Jordan played 3 real seasons in the last 20 years, how the hell is he #1? Tiger should be #1 in a landslide. Then LeBron, then Federer.

Agree. Tiger should have been unanimous #1

Damn some of you people are ridiculous. Quit taking shite so literally. It's pretty obvious this list is for the top 20 people who played sports in the last 20 years. Anyone who laughs because Tiger shouldn't be called an athlete are just looking to start shitty arguments
