ESPN Now Offering Streaming For $20 A Month

LOL at the BIG for adding poverty schools like Rutgers and Maryland because in time those TV dollars are going to become peasantry.

Do you know how much it costs to stream to people? Not much at all. Just need a server, encoder, and people to watch nodes (users) on trees that - HELP THE STREAM. That's right, most of the work is done by you and your computer.
No sense in paying $20 what is a really cheap...think, your cellphone can do this from GPS...imagine if hardwired.

Yeah, you were ahead of the curve. Dan Wetzel for Yahoo also was saying what could kill the cash cow was a la carte packages. I think the typical response will be (I see hat trick already made the argument) that the cable/phone companies will somehow get you in the end by gouging you for the data/usage.

Expensive, but it is a step in the right direction and still cheaper than the $100s people pay for cable TV packages.
I thought the eventual release would be about $10 a month, but this does include 10 channels.

Commercials have gotten to be so fricking bad. I can't believe how many car commercials I've seen watching bowl games the last few weeks.

Valid arguments, however, one would think that eventually google fiber and similar services will become more mainstream nationally

How in the world is this too expensive? This plus a netflix subscription, and say the basic cable plus HBO package Cox has with their internet, I mean what else would you need?

I only see ESPN and ESPN2 listed.
I don't see anything about SEC Network or ESPNU. College sports is the thing I care about the most.

My understanding with Delany's moves is it's not so much about eyeballs in certain regions or ratings, but there is some rule where the B1G can shove a big dollar per subscriber fee to the cable carriers when a B1G team is in that state.

of course they will, but the outrageous dollars they were offering will no longer be there; when more people decide cut the cord, there is less money to go around.
So the BIG will, in time, need to split less money among more programs (and that deserves a LOL)
