"Auction drafts are a common part of fantasy football, and ESPN's segments replicated an auction draft with a diverse slate of top professional football players," ESPN said in a statement Tuesday. "Without that context, we understand the optics could be portrayed as offensive, and we apologize."

frickers need to stop having auction drafts and they wouldn't need to keep apologizing.

Auction drafts are freaking awesome. You can load up on stars and then just put a shite team together behind that. You can also just sit back and wait to draft a super loaded and deep team when everyone has spent all their money.

How did this slip by as a good idea? Nobody asked the question "In a world where someone is offended by everything, is there anything we can anticipate being offensive about an auction involving black people?"

Are they covering this 24/7 like they would if someone else did it?

Did they cover the entire auction with the apology or part of it?

I may still be triggered.

We did absolutely nothing wrong but here's your apology you so desperately wanted.

That's what it should have said.

ESPN has no spine.

It was an auction draft. Anyone who plays FF recognized it.

This company can officially rot.

I'm tired of people having to apologize to the absolute retards who get offended over things they are clearly ignorant about.

That's what everyone thinks until they actually get into a auction league

Auction leagues are so much better than drafts

Yet another company/public figure made to look like a fool because, when placed in a situation where the clear proper response is, "Yeah, but you would have to be a retard to think that," they instead pussied out and, in doing so, validated the use of intentional self-retardation as a weapon in the public forum. What a wonderful world!
