Entire NBA trying to copy the Spurs?

So idk if anyone else has noticed but players are starting to play FAR fewer MPG this season than any other recent season. A trend the spurs seemed to have been doing over the past decade with their team (hardly any players over 30+ MPG and none ever over 34)
For example. This year there are only 6 players that average 36+ MPG and only 1 player that averages over 37 MPG (Jimmy Butler at a "ridiculous" 38.7)
In comparison..
Last year we had 16 players play 36+ MPG and 7 play 37+ MPG
The year before that.. 22 players playing 36+ MPG and 14 playing 37+ MPG
and 2 years before that.. 25 players playing 36+ MPG and 18 playing 37+ MPG.
So what's the deal? Pussification of American? Coaches getting smart and resting players for the playoffs? Just seems like an odd trend I've noticed over the past few years.

Considering the Spurs are the most successful and well run organization in North American sports over the last 15 years, seems like as good a strategy as any

Seems like one of many examples of the NBA simply evolving.

The real key to copying the Spurs success is to acquire one of the best coaches of all time along with one of the best players of all time. Then put enough supporting cast around them to make them want to stay for a long time.
