PSU refuses to release public records

For some reason PSU has state granted exemption from access to public records laws like almost all other public universities. They are flat refusing to release any public records related to internal complaints, investigations, emails, etc...regarding Jerry Sandusky or the football program.

Don't buy the BS the Board of Trustess and the governor, etc.. are shoveling right now. they are still in CYA mode and they are not at all trying to right the wrongs of their history of secrecy and protecting themselves.

THEY ARE ALL SUSPECT.

This needs to be a federal investigation.

Yes I believed that they were all along. but the point here is they are still doing it. The ones "cleaning house" are not really interested in transparency and doing the right thing and making the wrongs right. they are covering, protecting, and angling for paying the least amount of money possible to make this go away.

Yep they have def been in cya mode. Just the whole story is just unreal. Sandusky denying what happened, now the ginger saying he stopped it and went to the police. Then the worst thing is its probably going to end up getting worse

I think the public records exception protect them from having to release records to the media, not the police/da?

If you want the right people punished, you don't want the records released to the media during an on going investigation.

If they are stone walling the police/da, they could be held in contempt of court.

They are suspects. The University is about to get massively sued if more victims come out.

This is perfectly reasonable. It's called protecting your University so you don't go bankrupt. It's a business. They have a budget and bills to pay. They would like to stay open for business. Get it????

Probably in the university's best interest.

really, you're sure? Why is that because of your moral indignation, anything you suspect is true?

If evidence is destroyed, there are laws against that, you might have noticed that the AD and someone from the business office were indicted in this mess.

Again, the public records stuff is about keeping the media from getting the records.
