Who’s Louisiana-Lafayette?

I kid, I kid, and I hope this post doesn’t enrage the university name SS / fascist brigade or also known as Chopique…

Iowas St is the answer for the modern area.

It think the OP was thinking of a relevant major Power 5 program.

A&M at USL.

That game was on some kind of pay per view that I got with my cable in Dallas. I didn't pay for it, but saw the end of it. They stayed with the game long enough to show the students carrying the goal post out of the stadium. Their stadium was down in the ground so the top of one end zone was at ground level. They just walked it out.

I'm no ULL fan, but I'll definitely say you did the Lord's work that night.

They do not. And honestly, I think this embarrassment of calling themselves "Louisiana" is the true reason why. IF they went back to listing themselves in football as "UL-Lafayette" - their TRUE name - I think they'd have gotten over the hump.

Blanco was governor a long time ago, cajuns. Settle into that little brother role and you might just finally be making some headway.

A friendly reminder that your current Governor is a UL grad.

I was at that game. I never attended USL, but I was hammered at that game, and helped carry the goalpost out of cajun field. Had a blast.
I was too and it was indeed the high water mark of the program.

I'm guessing it wasn't the 1997 48-42 home loss to the 36 scholly D2 North Alabama Lions?

They can probably call their 1936 loss to LSU a moral victory since they kept the Tigers from reaching 100 points (final score LSU 93, SLI 0)

Anything akin to Louisiana-Monroe beating a Saban-coached Alabama team in Tuscaloosa?

I was there for the UAB beating of a Saban led LSU team, too. Seems like Saban, earlier in his career, usually lost 1 game a year to someone he had no business losing to until he got settled in bama and had 5 stars 3-deep and at that point no coach could frick that up.
