He’s not going to Nebraska you tard

I've been friends with Lance since HS and stood up in his wedding. He has ties to the Huskers and the state of Nebraska. He was a GA on Frank Solich's staff in Lincoln for three years and Solich helped him get a job at UNO, where he was OC for nine. Plus, his wife is from the area. It wouldn't surprie me to see him coach there.

Is it fair to say that they’re the Big 12 favorite this year?

Good for Kansas and Lance Leipold. Hell of a coach that has done a remarkable job there

Of course. They are at the top of the standings, they are the favorites.

I'm betting against them every game. They have to go back to being Kansas at some point.

You're gonna go broke

Kansas looks like WVU c. 2005-2007.

They are going to be a terror in the Big-12 this year.

The defense is going to give away some games this year but at least when they get beat it’s because the offense made a play, and not because the safety was trying to catch a butterfly.

I completely understand that you’re obviously closer to him than I could ever be, but a few things:
1. Lawrence isn’t far from Omaha, and her family isn’t far (NW Missouri), so would the distance be that significant of a factor?
2. The Solich part makes sense from a “coming full circle” aspect. Solich got fired after going 9-3 at Nebraska and the fans were calling for his head. It’s a different situation now, but if he goes there and in 4 years Nebraska goes 9-3, that won’t satisfy their fans. They’ll demand championships. At KU, if he goes 9-3, he’s a legend for forever.
3. One last thing: Lance doesn’t seem like the type of guy to leave during the season. Would Nebraska wait until after the season for him to decide or do you think Lance would leave during the season?

If Kansas actually makes a bowl it makes hiring him harder. If they don't, they can back channel and have a deal done and announced the Sunday after the regular season.
