Does anyone think the Cavs have a chance?

Is it possible the MSB has overreacted?

The Cavs did take a short lead late in the 3rd. It's not likely the Warriors bench will have career performances again

Do they still have LeBron? Yes they still have a chance.

That said, I hope they get swept.

I thought they did until last night. I don't watch much NBA though. The Warriors are too deep.

Is it likely Thompson and Curry will combine for 20 points in the rest of the games?

They still have a chance. There chances weren't good in the first place, but a loss was expected. It only decreased their chances marginally.

I mean after OKC was dominated by SAS in game 1, their chances weren't much better than Cleveland's. Then they went on to win 4 out 5 games.

Of course not. But a big reason for their low scoring output was because the bench played so well. So those are kind of one and the same

A chance, yes. Just not a very good one. And a slightly lower chance than before last night.

It's cliche, but this series will play itself out by game 4. It'll either be 3-1 and series over, or 2-2 and then we'll know CLE at that point has a legit chance...that's all assuming it's not 4-0 after 4 games lol.

How so?

Barbosa plays mainly bench minutes. Livingston plays the bulk of his minutes without Curry+Thompson on the floor.

After what we saw last night, I would not be surprised if the series went 4-1 with The Cavs winning their first game at home and then losing the next 2.

However, I will also not be surprised if The Cavs lose in 7 or turn it around and win in 6. They have Lebron James after all.

There is absolutely no shot they can win game 7 in Oakland. Has to be in 6.

You answered your question.

Kerr didn't stick to a tight rotation, he rode the hot hand. If Livingston and Barbosa aren't shooting the absolute lights out and winning the game by themselves, Curry and Klay get more minutes and score more points

If the Cavs lose a game at home it's over. Until then I think they have chance, not a great chance though.

They have a chance. Not a very good one.

We see it all of the time. Home teams often let up in game 2 after winning the first one and Cavs know the importance of taking one of the early away games.

I don't follow

If that's the case then wouldn't Livingston's output have little to do with their output since he's not stealing their shots?

FWIW, Barbosa+Livingston averaged 12.4 shots attempts per game this season. They attempted 15 last night.

They didn't take over the game by putting up wayyyyyy more shots, they just made the shots they took. Curry/Thompson weren't affected much at all by them.

They pretty much offset each other so offensively their performance was on par with their average as a team. It was just different players.

The Cavs need to improve their offense if they expect to win. That's the main point of last night's loss.

If they win Sunday than I like their chances of beating the Warriors in this series.

Then you probably shouldn't comment about a sport you know nothing about. It's a 7 game series. They can flip on a dime.

Read my edit.

He kinda is "stealing their shots" if he's playing their minutes while they're on the bench

Said in another thread, but last night's game was lost by Ty Lue. He inserted a line-up near the end of the third-quarter that included: Irving, Delly, Shump, Smith, and Thompson. The Cavs were down three and Iggy hit a big three-pointer to make it a six-point advantage going into the fourth.

Lue, for some reason, sticks with this same lineup going into the fourth. Kyrie plays hero ball, GSW stretches out the lead, and it wasn't until Cleveland was down 14 when LeBron James reentered the game.

Its this inept coaching that makes me believe GSW isn't going to lose this series.
