Dodgers trade for 2B Chase Utley; give up Darnell Sweeney & John Richy

Dodgers give up AAA 2B Darnell Sweeney & A RHP John Richy.
Richy will never see the major leagues, but Sweeney is a good prospect. He can play 2B, LF, and CF and leads the PCL in steals right now. He should be at least a good utility player on the ML level and maybe even an average starting player.
Phillies also gave up 4 million dollars.

Is Chase being brought in to start or platoon? Is Kendrick hurt or perhaps being moved to another position?
Not understanding this moving when pitching (particularly the bullpen) is still shaky. This team is not ready to challenge the Cardinals or "post-season" Giants.

Howie is believed to possibly be out til mid-September. I'd imagine that's the reason why Chase was acquired.

Ouch. Wasn't aware that Kendrick was hurt. Zach can hit, so perhaps Chase can pitch. :)

I'm guessing platoon, cause if he gets to 500 plate app, his $30 million option kicks in. Don't know where he stands right now.
