Most likely scenario: He was pissed and pouting he wasn't starting and used religion as an excuse. Someone in the locker room told him to get his head out of his arse. He does (for now), comes off the bench and plays well and tries to backpedal on his comments.

It wasn't the first game that he has been benched for. He came off the bench in the previous game, and has come off the bench for stretches in previous seasons.

In my opinion, this is total BS on Waiters part. I know several Muslims who served on active duty with me who had ZERO issues with honoring the national anthem. This bitch was pouting and using religion as an excuse

Wasn't this at the Utah game? That was his first game off the bench this year. He started the previous 3.
