Speaking of, OldSouth never did explain what he meant by that. That is shocking to no one, I'm guessing.

I was calling you a racist for bringing RACE into the conversation. What do you not understand?

Some of you people are so pathetic that it's not even funny. I just said that schools need to work with these high-profile athletes in order to help them express themselves better. God forbid, somebody should ever try to correct a problem.

And I said they already do.

Some of this conversation does contain a racial component. It has to do with blacks always bending over backwards to protect another black person, no matter what the truth is. Dm21 wouldn't give a damn if Johnny Manziel couldn't speak well. The fact is, it's all about race with somebody like you, dm21.

WTF are you talking about? I never mentioned the kid's race one time.

quote:

Hey, let the kid continue to embarrass himself on national television. Its better to pretend that he speaks well, as opposed to doing something about it. Right dm21?

Oh for Christ's sake. Just move on already. Just leave it at "us blacks stick together" ok?

highly doubt he is smart enough to learn NFL playbooks and prepare for NFL defenses. If he wasn't an athlete, he'd be lucky to get a job at Jiffy Lube

Don't attribute this quote to me. I didn't say this.

quote:

The kid carried a gpa in high school over a 4.0. There's stories out there of this kid breaking down cover 2, cover 3, etc. at 13 years old.

HS is incredibly easy to have a GPA over 4.0 if you just turn in your work. He isn't naturally dumb, but it is apparent that he is not taking advantage of a college education given to him. It's as if he knows how to be more articulate and chooses not to for some reason.

I still think he flops because he really doesn't read a blitz well and his release is kind of jerky. Just my opinion of course.

Sevendust is from WVU and literally hates Jameis because he is black. He also said that Jameis is too stupid to learn an NFL playbook.

Don't forget he's an incredible baseball player so if football doesnt' work out, he has options for income.

What did you mean when you said, "He can't help what color he is"???

You calling me a racist has nothing to do with what I'm asking you.

I never once said anything about him being black. You are nothing but a race baiter. Newsflash, it is possible to be dumb without being black

He also said that Jameis is too stupid to learn an NFL playbook

and?

He was accepted to Stanford, so you can admit you judging him based on the way he talks failed you into thinking he wasn't smart any time you like now.

And it's even easier to bet a 2.0 and move on if you're a big time athlete. The kid has a good head on his shoulders.

It's his first year as a starter and he won the Heisman and a national championship with a game winning drive with 1:19 left.

Sorry, I don't judge someone solely based on the way they communicate.

Without football, he didn't stand a chance. (Well maybe, as academia does give preference to race to promote diversity.)

I know that, but the NFL is a completely different game. Ask Matt Leinart and Vince Young. They were immensely better than JW in college.

Regardless, I think baseball is a better chance for him to make more $ - if he can truly throw 95 mph that is.

I don't expect you to, you are a FSU fan.

Tavon Austin is my favorite player, and he scored a 7 on the wonderlic. I didn't say I hated Jameis.

Whatever makes you feel better, I'm sure you're very well versed on Jameis Winston's high school academic career to make these kinds of determinations.

Funny though, because 1 quick Google search should turn up articles on how it's tougher for Stanford to recruit certain players due to them having higher admission standards than most football schools. But I'm sure that's all made up, you got all your bases covered!!!

My arse. Wanna see a genuine player the media attacked unfairly? Look no further than Johnny Manziel.

I did not say or mean he is was a genuine person..... I don't know him like you obviously do. I meant that his interview genuine. It was not full cliche's and typical rhetoric. It was uneven, lacked elegance but was geniune.....I also agree about Manziel. Dude is a gamer

You said a guy who was smart enough to be admitted to Stanford would work at Jiffy Lube if he wasn't a good football player, so if it's not hate, surely it's something making you think all of this stuff.

I said this:
quote:

"He can't help what color he is"???

In response to this:
quote:

if you are remotely intelligent, paying attention, and don't have an obvious bias towards black people.
You started defending him because he was black. I am criticizing him for the way he talks. Therefore you must assume that all black people speak poorly and that's why we are criticizing him. That makes you a racist.

You're comparing guys who played multiple years in college to a guy who has played one as a redshirt freshman. Sounds legit.

Try to make sense, then we can talk.

That couldn't make less sense if you tried to make it make less sense.

If Jameis could declare this year...he would be the #1 pick, the heisman winner (as a Freshman), and a national title winner. And all as a QB.

Yeah the dude is a moron. I'm not sure how he'll be successful at the next level.
