Johnson, Gordon and Earnhardt all race for the same team, Hendrick Motorsports. I guess Patrick had good reason not to expect help from Earnhardt on the last lap if she tried to pass on the inside, as long as Johnson was leading the race.

What's your point? Jr was supposedly going for the win and would have left anybody(2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.) to go for it especially if a teammate was leading. Once he got behind his teammate he did seem unwilling to challenge for the win.

Earnhardt had nothing to lose by initiating a move and going for the win himself, but would he have helped Patrick with a move that she initiated, with possiblility that he would be helping her overtake his teammate for the win?

If it wasn't for kenseth or Busch problems I believe a Toyota mainly the Gibbs cars would've won

Well if it wasn't for Bama, LSU would have won the National Championship on Jan 9 2012.

Well, that has been Toyotas problem the last few years. Fastest cars on the track, but they can't last the whole race. Kyle had a few engine failures last year.

In his post-race press conference, Earnhardt said that he was surprised that neither Patrick or Biffle tried to close the door on him when he made the move to the inside on the last lap. I guess Johnson, who did cut in front of him, was the only one anticipating his move.

Matt Kenseth about the durability issue...
quote:

“I know we’re sitting in the garage, so everybody’s going to think you’re going to be bummed out, and I am, but yet I can’t be any more thankful or excited, honestly. I don’t think the week could have went any better. Our finishing position doesn’t show it, but it’s just a great group with really, really fast race cars and if you have really fast race cars and get some for the reliability stuff fixed we’ll compete for championships.

“Here’s the thing. It could be worse. Could have ran last all day and be sitting in the garage. So, I mean, we have a lot to look forward to. It’d be easy to be disappointed and throw my Gatorade at you, but I don’t know. Man, there’s a lot to look forward to. I just can’t help sitting here thinking how thankful I am they put this together for me, and I can’t wait to get to Phoenix.”

Kenseth taking it in stride and seems to be finally comfortable with his team since losing Robbie Reiser 4 or so years ago

I'm sure if the durability issue keeps him from finishing races the frustration will build and gonna wish he had him some Yates engine...

I would consider winning the pole, leading for five laps and a top 10 finish a success for Danica. The icing on the cake would be a Daytona Neilsen rating's record which would be credited to her. As Richard Petty said, Danica has the potential put NASCAR on the front pages newspapers, and not just the sports section either.

I guess Petty knew what he was talking about. Cha-Ching$$$
