quote:

Devon Gales’ life changed forever on Sept. 26, 2015, when the Southern University wideout collided with Georgia kicker Marshall Morgan during a second-half kickoff.

Gales was stretchered off the field and suffered damaged vertebra in his neck – resulting in a diagnosis of paralysis from the waist down after surgery.

On Thursday – less than two years after that diagnosis– Gales shared this video on Twitter of him walking with assistance:

My hat's off to this young man. Also from previous stories, many kudos to the University of Georgia, their team and the whole Georgia community for how they have helped this man in his long road to recovery.

Whenever I read stories like this, I wonder if it really is possible that willpower can make people heal. Kudos to him.

Great stuff!!

UGA, and Mark Richt have been first class from jump on this.

I salute them and always will make sure they are given credit for how the handled this.

I'm an LSU fan fwiw, but I've followed this story from the start. UGA has been top notch on this.

And good luck and keep up the faith young man!!
